Half Marathon

The MOK Run Half Marathon route is famous for crossing the Mach Dunes Golf Course and the stunning beach section.

The Half Marathon and 10k races with both start together at 10.30am. The 10k route splits to the right at the Dellwood hotel after the first 1km - with the half marathon continuing straight on.

The Googlemap route gives some detail of the contour and the half marathon course - but not the new start (road has been built more recently). The pdf at the base of the page gives the full route.

Half Marathon Sunday 28th May 1030h
· The Half-Marathon route is mostly flat with a slow incline as the race leaves the town in mile 2 and again in mile 3 after the left turn at the Craigs’ Farm. In town please run with the traffic, on pavement where possible. Outside the town follow marshal’s instructions. From the town to just past Drumore, run on pavement on left hand side and then cross as directed by marshals to run facing oncoming traffic. The A83 from Campbeltown to the Craigs’ Farm is a busy road but will be well marshalled. At points you will be directed to run with the traffic. Signs & marsha
ls will direct which side of road to run on throughout the course.

The section from beyond Clochkeil Farm to the beach (approx 1,000m) crosses the Machrihanish Dunes golf course. Marshals and signs will highlight the route but extra care should be taken here.  This section is run in reverse coming off the beach.  Beach conditions can vary - further update during briefing. Marshals & Coastguard 4x4 vehicle will be present on the beach and will mark out the best route.
