RACE UPDATE - Chip
Timing for MOKRUN |
MOKRUN organisers are pleased to confirm that this
weekend's Mull of Kintyre races will be timed using
electronic chips, provided by Race Timing Systems (RTS).
Arrangements were still being finalised at the time race
packs went to print last weekend. The system will be a
'gun to chip' system, meaning, your time will be from
the 'gun' and not when you cross the start line
(potentially a few seconds later). As already stated in
the race packs, runners should arrive to register
between 8.30 and 10.00am, allowing plenty of time to
collect and attach the chips (using ankle strip provided
by RTS).
If you have any queries please contact race committee
using contacts details in the race pack" |

Mull of Kintyre Run
has just been voted the second best half -marathon in
Scotland in 2006 - with only Glasgow being voted
better!! MOKRUN was overall one of the Top 100 Races of
any length in the UK for 2006, as voted by the Runners
World Magazine. This is based on the views of
participants as well as the editorial team at the
magazine. Considering that there were 3,000 events to
choose from, we are delighted that our event has been
recognised in this way in its first ever year. The Mull
of Kintyre Run was also listed as one of the Best Hidden
Gems, scoring a perfect 100% from runners who who would
do the race again. For full details see the February
2007 edition of Runners World.
We hope to run an even better race in 2007 and would
encourage runners to enter feedback on the race to the
Runners World Event Ratings - see
