BIG JOURNEYS
Confirmed for
2011! MOKRUN
are pleased to announce that world adventurer Rosie Swale-Pope
will be giving a free talk on Saturday 28 May.
‘‘Rosie
Swale-Pope’s epic ‘Little Run Around the World’, apart from
being the longest unsupported run in world history, is
undoubtedly one of the most astounding, inspiring and life
impacting feats of human endurance ever undertaken’ Blind
Adventurer Miles Hilton-Barber
"Swale-Pope’s
positivity is overwhelming!" – The Sunday Times
Rosie was
bought up by her grandmother, who taught her you CAN reach
for your dreams. ‘It’s not good looks or natural gifts that
count the most, Rosie luckily for you!’ she’d say’. It is
the WANTING to do
something and giving it everything with all your might, that
can make it happen. ‘Rosie says, ‘I owe her more than words
can tell.’
Rosie has
written several best selling books, the latest is JUST A
LITTLE RUN AROUND THE WORLD, published by Harper Collins,
and has made documentaries for Channel 4, and WNET USA. In
hertalks she
shares her extraordinary adventures and voyages, and the
life lessons she has learnt from them!
Aside from
Rosie's 'Little Run Around the World', here are just some of
her other amazing travels and voyages:
·
Wing walking, October 2010 - the first of
Rosie’s 101 special new challenges!!
· Sailing alone across the Atlantic in a
17ft boat.
· Running 27 marathons in 27 days in
Britain pulling 300lb sled cart/ sled Icebird
used in world run, for charity.
· Riding on horseback for 451 days
through the Atacama desert and down the length
of Chile to Patagonia
· Twice completing Marathon des Sables –
The Toughest Foot – race on Earth’
· Runs for charity through Kosovo,
Montenegro and Albania
As
you can see, Rosie is truly an awe inspiring
individual, and MOKRUN feel privileged to have
Rosie tell her story, not to mention taking part
in the 10K race pulling none other than Icebird!

Saturday 28th May 2011 - starting at

Springbank
Distillery is unique. It is the oldest independent family owned
distillery in Scotland. Founded in 1828 on the site of Archibald
Mitchell's illicit still, the Springbank Distillery is now in
the hands of his great great great grand son, Hedley G. Wright.
Owned by Mr
Wright's J&A Mitchell & Co Ltd, Springbank is the only
distillery in Scotland to carry out the full production process
on the one site. 100% of the traditional floor malting,
maturation and bottling is done at the distillery in
Campbeltown.
It produces the
most hand made whisky in Scotland, with traditional production
methods being used throughout the process, and human involvement
at each and every stage.
It is the only
distillery in Scotland to have never chill-filtered, nor do we
add any artificial colourings to any of our single malts.
It is the only
distillery in Scotland to produce three different single malts,
Springbank,
Longrow and
Hazelburn, using three
different production methods.
