Fundraising for Campbeltown Town Hall MOKRUN and MOKTRI would like to encourage participants to support the fundraising for the new Campbeltown Town Hall. South Kintyre Development Trust (SKDT) has secured grant funding of almost £1.7M towards the renovation and refurbishment of Campbeltown Town Hall. The funding will bring this iconic building into community ownership and allow SKDT the opportunity to transform it into a fully accessible community hub fit for the 21st century. Main uses include a one stop shop providing a range of advice, information and support services from SKDT's partner organisations, office space and hot desks will be available and the Main Hall will available for classes, clubs, events, and coffee mornings as well as conferences, functions, weddings and exhibitions.
The planned refurbishment also includes the installation of a semi-commercial kitchen, a new lift and the provision of disabled toilets. Once completed, all rooms and facilities will be fully accessible to people using wheelchairs.
In order for the facility to become financially sustainable and to maximise usage, SKDT is seeking to raise additional funds of approx £20,000. This additional funding will enable SKDT to install video-conferencing facilities, sound and lighting equipment as well as improving the overall quality of furnishings and fittings.
SKDT has been encouraged by the level of support received from members of the local community during the development of this project and is grateful for their ongoing cooperation which will ensure the future success of Campbeltown Town Hall.
